Hopefully Making Some Progress

With very pertinent criticisms duly noted I have worked to remedy some of the more glaring issues with the piece though it still is far from complete. Please let me know what you think of the progress so far and if there are any suggestions to guide its development. Thank you very much for your help.

are you leaving the type out? the background looks a lot stronger now and it doesn't confuse the concept since the season is ambiguous. the two trees should overlap to suggest more depth, and right now their proximity is creating a tension. the air fresheners should not all be perfectly facing the viewer, have some varied angles, and push the freshener that's overlapped by the branch even farther back, it looks like it's sitting on the edge of the tree. the shading still looks pixelated and uninteresting on the branch. the bands holding the fresheners look sloppy and don't respond to the weight of their load.

those are the problems that strike me right now, but it looks like you're on the right track. i have a new illustration up on my blog, check it out and tear it up. we should create a joint blog with some other folks (such as mike, vinny, petra, shawn, kenny, other artists we know) so we could have more extensive crit sessions and debates. it might also motivate people to get more/better work up. that way people wouldn't have to visit a bunch of individual blogs to see everyone's work. right now i think it might just be you and i writing back and forth. let me know what you think and if you have any membership concerns.

Doing a joint blog is a good idea, I would also like to link your blog from mine but I don't know how. If you figure it out let me know.
